jmiller@portagelawyers.com Attorney John Miller (Jack) has been practicing with the firm since he was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1972. He practices in the areas of business law, collections, elder law, estate planning, land use and zoning, municipal law, probate and trust administration and real estate. He also litigates cases in each of these practice areas.

Jack is a Portage, Wisconsin native. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Ripon College in 1970 and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1972. In addition to his other professional obligations Attorney Miller also serves, by judicial appointment, as a Court Commissioner.

Jack understands the importance of professionals being active members of their community and has served as an officer on the Board of Directors for Divine Savior Healthcare, on the Board of Best Friends (the community's volunteer mentoring organization for youth), and on the Board for the Portage Community School District. He also recently served as a chair of the Capital Campaign for the renovation of the local parochial school.

Jesse Spankowski

jspankowski@portagelawyers.com Attorney Jesse Spankowski joined the firm upon admission to the Wisconsin Bar in January of 2011. He practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate, business law and municipal law. He also serves as a court appointed Guardian ad Litem.

Jesse is a Reedsburg, Wisconsin native. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 2004, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for three years in that field. He then continued his education at the University of Wisconsin Law School, graduating in 2010. Continuing the tradition of the firm, Jesse is active in the Portage community.

At present, he is actively involved in Columbia County CARES, is a member of the Portage Kiwanis and holds the position of Portage City Attorney. In the past, Jesse served as a volunteer coach for the Portage High School cross country and track teams. Jesse and his wife, Carrie, have three children, Jackson, Scarlett and Ruby. In addition to their family activities, Jesse is active in a variety of outdoor activities. He has long had a passion for running and also enjoys camping, fishing, gardening and other outdoor activities. He also enjoys spending time in the kitchen, cooking and baking.

Jesse Spankowski
Attorney | Tracy J. Waldinger
twaldinger@portagelawyers.com Attorney Tracy J. Waldinger joined the firm in 2017 as an associate. Tracy is a rural Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin native and grew up on a farm. She graduated summa cum laude in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in German. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2014. While attending law school, she worked with the Wisconsin Innocence Project, interned at the Green County District Attorney's Office, and was a judicial law clerk in Sauk County.

After graduating from law school, she served as Court Commissioner, judicial law clerk, and the Tri-County Foreclosure Mediation Program Administrator in Oneida and Vilas Counties. Prior to joining the firm, she most recently served as in-house counsel for a finance company.

Tracy enjoys participating in numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, hunting, and fishing. Tracy also enjoys playing cards, particularly Euchre and Sheepshead. On weekends, she can be found helping her family on the farm when she is not cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers.
